JAMMU, Nov 22: A teenaged boy allegedly jumped today into River Tawi from Gujjar Nagar bridge but escaped miraculously with minor injuries.
“The boy has been identified as Amit (15) son of late Rajkumar, resident of Kanachak,” a police official said. He said the boy received minor scratches on his body but was in shock.
The official said that the boy was rescued by some locals and shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for medical treatment. The reason behind the extreme step taken by the boy was not known as his statement was yet to be recorded, he added.
Bagh-e-Bahu police had taken cognizance of the matter.
