J&K ICAI organizes Webinar on Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme

JAMMU, Nov 24: The J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India organized a webinar on ‘Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme 2020’
Poonam Khaira Sidhu,Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Amritsar was the chief guest on the occasion.
D.S Chaudhry, PCIT-I, Amritsar & Srinagar, Krinwant Sahay, PCIT-I, Ludhiana & Jalandhar and Rameshwar Singh, PCIT, Patiala were the Special Invitees.
S.K Sharma,Addl.CIT, Range-1, Jammu and R. K. Gubgotra, JCIT, Srinagar coordinated the webinar on behalf of Income Tax Department.
Eminent speaker and Tax Guru CA. (Dr.) Girish Ahuja was the guest speaker on the occasion. Dr. Ahujadi scussed the procedural aspects of the scheme and urged the professionals to advise their clients to take the benefit of Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme 2020. It is pertinent to mention that the application for opting for VVS scheme without interest and penalty is 31st December 2020 while the taxes have to be deposited by 31st of March 2021.
Poonam Khaira, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax CIT J&K, in her address, appreciated the role of J&K branch of ICAI in holding such Webinar & thanked guest speaker CA.(Dr) Girish Ahuja. She also addressed and resolved the various queries raised by stakeholders during the webinar.
Chairman, NIRC of ICAI, CA. Shashank Agrawal and CA. Ajay Singhal, Ex-officio member of J&K Branch were also present on the occasion.
CA. Lalit Kumar Gupta, Chairman of the branch delivered the inaugural address. He said that it is once in a lifetime dispute resolution scheme launched by the Government and assesses whose litigations are pending at any forum should come forward to avail the benefit of the scheme.CA Nakul Saraf, Secretary of the Branch conducted the proceedings.
CA. Vinay Jamwal, Vice-Chairman of the branch presented the formal vote of thanks. Past Chairman, CA. Shalay Razdan, JKCASA Chairman , CA.Arvind Dev Jamwal along with number of Chartered Accountants, Tax Professionals, officials from Income Tax Department and stakeholders from various parts of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh were also present at the occasion.
