Absconding fraudster arrested after 16 years

JAMMU, Nov 24: Crime Branch Jammu has arrested an absconding accused, who was involved in duping unemployed youth on the pretext of arranging Government job in Police recruitment.
The accused, Sat Pal alias Vishal, son of Amru Chand of Shajoor Majalta, District Udhampur, at present Greater Kunjwani By-pass Jammu, is involved in case FIR number 18/2004 U/S 420, 120-B/RPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu and had been evading arrest for more than 16 years of committing the Crime.
The accused had duped the complainant and other unemployed youth of Rs 6,80,000 on the pretext of arranging the job of Sub-Inspector in J&K Police during recruitment in the year 2002.
Allegations of cheating and criminal conspiracy were proved against the accused along with other co-accused persons during the investigation conducted by Crime Branch Jammu and the charge-sheet of the case was produced on 24-08-2006 in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu. The said accused was at large and had been constantly evading his arrest since 26-05-2009. Thereafter, the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu had declared the accused as absconder U/S 512 CrPC.
With meticulous planning and effective coordination by the Crime Branch team, specific inputs regarding his presence was developed, which led to his arrest by Crime Branch team.
The arrested accused is being produced before the court of law for judicial determination.
