JAMMU, Nov 24: Lashing out at BJP leadership for neglecting people of Jammu in developmental sphere and ignoring their day to day issues, the senior Congress leader and former minister Mula Ram said that the public is facing severe problems due to lack of basic amenities.
The former minister said that dilapidated condition of roads particularly in rural areas of Jammu exposes the misdeeds of the BJP rule while its false promises made during last Parliamentary and Assembly elections proved just a hoax.
Senior Congress leader said this while addressing party workers and people on Tuesday during canvassing for the party’s candidate Rajinder Kumar for the upcoming DDC polls. He visited Flora Nagbani, Parvah, Ladoore, Tataryal and Gujjar Basti Karloo of Block Marh, Tehsil Jammu.
Mula Ram said that not only roads which are in pathetic state but the situation of power and water supply in rural areas are also grim, adding that people are facing acute shortage of water and power but they are getting only false assurances from the BJP leadership and no viable solution to their problems.
Criticizing the BJP led Central Government over the amendments in land laws, the Congress leader said the residents of J&K are feeling cheated by the decision. He said that the new land laws announced by the centre whereby anyone can purchase land in the Union Territory, is against the repeated assurances given by the BJP to protect the land and jobs for locals, adding that it is yet another betrayal of the BJP with the people of J&K.
He further said that the weaker sections of the society and rural masses are suffering a lot due to misrule as well as anti-people policies of the BJP Government. He accused the BJP of befooling the people of J&K by its false claims of development. He said that BJP did nothing for the people except polarizing society on religious and regional lines. He said the people are bearing the brunt of the BJP’s wrong policies and are forced to live miserable lives during the past more than six years.
