NAGROTA, Nov 25: Jammu is craving for equitable development and equal opportunities of employment instead of mere rhetoric, hollow promises and emotive discourse”, said Devender Singh Rana, Provincial President, J&K National Conference while addressing series of meetings at Dhok Waziran, Nagrota and Kattalbatal Panchayats of District Development Constituencies Nagrota and Dansal.
Rana said over the last five years since the BJP is ruling J&K, Jammu has been deprived of its basic development and has been ignored. He said time has come that all political parties must shun rhetoric and emotive jingoism and focus on core issues affecting the lives of the people of Jammu region.
Provincial President said unemployment is at its zenith and there seems to be no clear road map with the government to tackle the burgeoning issue and instead diversionary tactics are being adopted to hoodwink the people.
He said BJP is hiding its non-performance and failures in J&K by raking national and international issues which have nothing to do with the development of Districts in J&K for which elections are being held. “DDC elections will have no bearing whatsoever on any issue of any nature other than the basic development of the districts concerned and so it is inappropriate for the BJP to rake these national and international issues”, he said.
Rana said National Conference has always worked to uphold the secular fabric of J&K and fight all the forces which have tried to create a wedge between region, countries and people on the basis of religion , caste, language or ethnicity. He said the party will continue to uphold the values of democracy and secularism which are the basic fundamental principal of the country.
He said the upcoming polls will send a terse message to the BJP for pursuing divisive politics that has caused enormous damage to the secular fabric of this land of Sufis and Saints.
He sought a massive mandate for Som Nath Khajuria and Shamim Begum National Conference candidates from DDC Nagrota and Dansal.
Prominent those present in the meetings included Ch. Rehmat Ali, BDC Chairman Ngarota, Pt. Rameshwar Dutt, Kulbushan Singh Sarpanch Kattalbatal, Zorawar Singh, Joginder Lal, Bashir Malik, Ch. Noor Ali, Kaushal Khajuria, Sanjay Sharma Niab Sarpanch Nagrota, Allah Rakha, Timmu Pandit, and many others.
