Man held for poaching migratory birds

Srinagar, Nov 26: Police today said to have arrested a person for poaching migratory birds in south Kashmir’s Awantipora.
Police officials informed that a man has been arrested for poaching migratory birds, also stating that a 12-bore weapon has been seized from his possession.
After his arrest, the police are also in a process of recommending the cancellation of the license issued to the accused.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Police said that Police Pampore received a complaint regarding the poaching of migratory birds in Meej Pampore.
“Upon this information Police Station Pampore along with Wildlife authorities arrested one person namely Ghulam Haider resident of Balhama Panthachowk,” the police said.
In this regard, the police said, a case FIR number 94 of 2020 under section 51 Wildlife Protection Act stands registered against the said person in Police Station Pampore.
