Tall promises of BJP failed to materialize on ground: Bhardwaj

ARNIA, Nov 26: Notwithstanding tall promises of doubling income of farmers and measures for safety, security and economic survival of the people living in border villages and towns made by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi nothing has happened on the ground.
This was stated by senior Congress leader and member AICC, Mohinder Bhardwaj while addressing a rally organized during the filing of nomination by Suman Jyoti of Congress for DDC elections from Arnia block.
Pradesh Congress vice-president, Raman Bhalla, Neeraj Kundal, National President NSUI were also present on the occasion.
Bharat Bhushan, who resigned from BSP and joined Congress was welcomed by Bhardwaj, Kailash Saini, Councillor Municipal Committee Arnia, Krishan Saini, Block Congress President, Jagdish Raj, Ex-Sarpanch, Karan Kumar, Rakesh Arora, Rajwant Singh Panch, Dr Nagar Mal and Surinder Saini.
Bhardwaj said that people of border areas are facing hardships on account of unprovoked firing and ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
“Pathetic state of roads and infrastructure network, poor supply of water and power, no employment to the educated youth and complete failure of the UT administration to address grievances of poor and downtrodden people of backward border area of J&K marks failure of the government,” he maintained.
The Congress leader also said that near absence of civic amenities and the missing promised bunkers to protect villagers from Pakistan firing is a tell-tale of official and ruling BJP’s apathy.
“The water of the Ranbir Canal does not reach fields of Border areas despite repeated demands of the people living at zero line,” Bhardwaj further said appealing to the people to vote for Congress and remain wary of BJP’s diversionary tactics aimed at deflecting attention from utter failure.
He wondered as to how senior Union Ministers including a former army chief have come campaigning in DDC elections which is a block level election.
“Does that reflect panic reaction on BJP’s part?” he asked.
