Constitution Day celebrated across UTs of J&K, Ladakh

JAMMU, Nov 26: The Constitution Day was celebrated across Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
J&K Legal Services Authority and Ladakh Legal Services Authority celebrated the Constitution Day by organizing series of activities. The Legal Services Institutions started the celebration of the day by participating in a webinar on the topic “Constitution Day” organised by Chandigarh Judicial Adacemy in which Dr Balram Gupta, Director (Academics) Chandigarh Judicial Academy dwelt upon various facets of the constitution. It was followed by reading of the preamble in the Jammu wing as well as Sringar wing of the High Court of J&K and at all the headquarters of Legal Services Institutions in the UT’s of J&K and Ladakh. In Jammu Wing, the preamble reading was led by Justice Gita Mittal, Chief Justice, High Court of J&K in which Judges of the High Court of J&K and officers of the Registry and staff participated. Similarly, in Srinagar wing, the reading of preamble was led by Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey. Thereafter, a handbook on Fundamental Duties published by J&K Legal Services Authority was released by Gita Mittal in presence of Justice Rajesh Bindal, Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority and the judges of High Court of J&K. The last event of the celebration was an online talk on “Preamble of the Constitution of India and the Idea of Inclusion” by Gautam Bhatia, Advocate and Research Scholar, Oxford University (UK).
To celebrate Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, a function was organized in the premises of Police Headquarters J&K. The function was presided over by the Director General of Police Dilbag Singh, while ADGP Headquarters AG Mir read out the Preamble of Constitution of India. The function was attended by ADGPs, AK Choudhary, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IGPs Mukesh Singh, MK Sinha, Danesh Rana, Garib Dass, Alok Kumar, all AIGs of PHQs, all Jammu Based JKAP/IRP Commandants and staff members of PHQ and APHQ. Meanwhile, the Jammu Kashmir Police celebrated the day at all District, Unit and wing headquarters where the concerned police heads led the police officers and Jawans in pledge taking ceremony.
The Office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu organized a function to mark the Constitution Day. The function was attended by all the staff of the Divisional Commissioner office. At the outset Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma read out the preamble of the Indian Constitution. The reciting of the Preamble was followed by a pledge taking ceremony. Additional Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners Central, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue Attorney), Deputy Director Planning and other staff members among other staff were present on the occasion.
To commemorate Constitution Day, District Legal Services Authority Jammu established 5th legal Aid Clinic under Access to Justice, project phase-II at Kendriya Vidayala School Bantalab. The Clinic was inaugurated by Sanjeev Gupta, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Jammu and Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education Jammu who were the chief guest on the occasion. Mohinder K Sharma, Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority Jammu , Nuashad Ahmed Khan Secretary DLSA Jammu, DP Patel Assistant Commissioner KV Sangathan Jammu, Shalini Sharma Chairperson, Suraj Prasad Principal KV Bantalab Jammu alongwith other dignitaries, faculty members and the students of the school were also present. The preamble was read by lsha Bhagat, student of the school followed by flag hosting. A group song was presented by the students which was composed by Trivid TGT Music, while Alka PGT Chemistry presented vote of thanks.
Constitution Day was celebrated by DLSA Reasi under the chairmanship of Kamlesh Pandit, Principal District and Sessions Judge. The day was celebrated by reading the Preamble at District Court Reasi, at Court Complex Katra and Court Complex Mahore. A webinar was also attended by the judicial officers.
District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Udhampur celebrated the Constitution Day under the supervision of Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the DLSA Mohan Lal Manhas. Judges and courts’ staff administered a pledge on the Preamble of constitution. Similar programmes were held at Ramnagar, Chenani and Majalta by the Tehsil Legal Services Committees.
Crime Branch Jammu celebrated Constitution Day. All Gazetted, Non Gazetted and lower subordinate staff of Crime Branch, Jammu assembled at the Zonal Crime Headquarters premises and participated in the ceremony in the form of oath. Shailender Singh, SSP Crime Branch Jammu read out the Preamble to the Constitution of India to the officers and men to observe the Constitution Day.
Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association J&K Jammu celebrated the Constitutional Day. At Day Care Centre, Exhibition Ground in Jammu, President SS Wazir, General Secretary JK Vaid and other members read out the Preamble of the Constitution of India. One of the members KB Jandial spoke on the making of the Constitution, its salient features and implementation.
All Jammu based units and establishment of Jammu Sector, CRPF celebrated Constitution Day by reading its preamble. On the occasion in the GC CRPF Bantalab, Jammu, Sumit Verma, Deputy Commandant administered the oath of “Preamble” to the Constitution in the men’s club to Officers, SOs and Other Ranks. After this Varun Vaid, Assistant Commandant delivered a brief lecture and informed about the importance of the day. The programs was organized under the leadership of SP Singh, DIGP, in which Rajesh, Kumar, Deputy Commandant, Sumit Verma, Deputy Commandant and other Gazetted Officers, Subordinate Officers and jawans also lend their support.
On the occasion of Constitution Day of India, a programme was organized by Army at Army Goodwill School Hajjnar in Tangdar valley. The teachers and students read the ‘Preamble’ to the Constitution and ‘Pledge’ to uphold its ideology. In addition, an informative lecture on ‘Constitution of India’ and a quiz competition on ‘Constitution of India’ was also organized for the students.
Constitution Day was celebrated by faculty of SCERT J&K, Jammu under the directions of Prof Veena Pandita, Director SCERT J&K and overall supervision of Joint Director HR Pakhroo, in which whole of the staff assembled and readout the Preamble to the Constitution. Earlier, Deepak Sharma, Senior Academic Officer, SCERT J&K highlighted about the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution.
On the occasion of Constitution Day, pledge ceremonies for preserving and upholding of the unity, integrity and security of the nation were organized by J&K Anti Corruption Bureau at Jammu and Srinagar.
Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu organized Samvidhan Divas Pledge Ceremony to commemorate Constitution Day in the premises of Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in which Ashok Kumar, SSP Staff Officer and other officers/officials took the pledge. IGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh read out the Preamble to the Constitution of India. Besides , the constitution day was also celebrated at all District Police Headquarters of Jammu Zone.
NHPC Limited celebrated ‘Samvidhan Diwas’ across all its regional offices, power stations, projects and units. The celebrations at NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad were led by AK Singh, CMD, NHPC by joining reading of the ‘Preamble’ of the Constitution of India by President of India, Ram Nath Kovind at Kevadia, Gujarat through live telecast. Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects), NK Jain, Director (Personnel), YK Chaubey, Director (Technical), RP Goyal, Director (Finance) and AK Srivastava, CVO, NHPC also participated in the programme from their offices and other locations.
Speaking to lawyers across Country through webinar organised by Asia Pacific Lawyers Group, Senior Supreme Court Advocate and a prominent Bar leader Ashok Bhan said this day is a reminder to us that while Constitution gives rights to the citizens, frames principles, procedures, restrictions and duties for the Government at the same time it casts duties on the citizens to follow the rule of law.
Police Academy Udhampur celebrated Constitution in its premises. Mohan Lal, SSP Assistant Director (Outdoor) read the Preamble of Constitution of India. Vinay Kumar, (SSP) Assistant Director (Admn), Ashish Rathore, Chief Prosecuting Officer, KK Sharma DySP (Q), Tahir Hussain Dy.SP (Admn), Zaid Saif Wani DySP (Indoor/Int), Sunmati Gupta DySP (Outdoor), Ramesh Kataria DySP PS/Administrative Officer, Sunil Kumar and Vikram Parihar, Senior Prosecuting Officers were among others present on the occasion.
To commemorate Constitution Day, all the officers and officials of SDRF 2nd Battalion Jammu participated in Premable ceremonu. Vinod Kumar Sathu, DySP SDRF 2nd Battalion was among others present on the occasion.
All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations celebrated the Constitution Day at Ambedkar Chowk Jammu. RK Kalsotra, President Confederation and I/C DOM along with members of the Confederation started a march from Ambedkar Chowk to Governor House but was stopped by police. A Magistrate was present at the moment who accepted the letter of demands and assured that the memorandum will be submitted to LG through a viable channel.
Department of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu organised an online Webinar to commemmorate Constitution Day under the patronship of Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu. Dr. Sunita Zalpuri Kaul, Dean Trainee Welfare, Professor and Head Centre for Good Governance in Administrative Reforms J&K IMPARD, Jammu was the resource person for the webinar. The Webinar started with the reading of Preamble of the Constitution to the faculty and students by Prof. Bhopinder Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, CLUJ who was the Chairperson at the event.
Central University of Kashmir (CUK) organized several functions across its campuses in Ganderbal to commemorate the Constitution Day. During the day long programmes, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir addressing the gatherings both offline and online. The keynote speaker was Prof Muhammad Ayoub Dar, Head Department of Law, University of Kashmir. Earlier, Dean DSW Prof Mehraj ud Din Shah presented welcome address.
Development and environment protection should go hand in hand, Vice-Chancellor of University of Kashmir Prof Talat Ahmad said this while addressing a day-long environment awareness programme, which was organised to mark the Constitution Day. The offline-cum-online awareness programme “Duty to Protect Environment” was organised by the varsity’s Fundamental Rights and Duties Awareness Cell (FRADAC).
Dogra Degree College organised a webinar on the topic “Constitution and Constitutionalism In India” on National Constitution Day. The NCC unit of Dogra Degree College in collaboration with the Arts Department of the college took this initiative where in Prof Baljit Singh, Head of the Department, Political Science, University of Jammu was the resource person.
Dogra Law College celebrated Constitutional Day by organizing a webinar on the Topic “Article 21 viz-a viz Dignity of the Dead Person in Pandemic”. Prof SK Sharma Retd Head and Dean, Law Department and Ex-Information Commissioner, University of Jammu graced the session as guest of honour. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust and Dr Komila Aggarwal Principal Incharge Dogra Law College addressed the gathering.
Government College of Education (GCoE) Jammu organized a function to mark the Constitution Day. The function was attended by all the staff of the College. At the outset, College Principal Dr Kulvinder Kour read out the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. The Principal administered the pledge to the staff for upholding the fundamental duties as enshrined in the Constitution.
To commemorate Constitution Day, Principal Dr Ravendra Tickoo and all the staff members of GGM Science College read the preamble of the constitution. Intercollegiate Quiz and poster making were organized by Associate NCC Officer Dr (Capt) Anjana Sharma and NCC SW Cadets of the college. E-certificates were given oline to the students who secured above 60 per cent. NSS of the college under the guidance of PO Dr Deepali Mahajan organized E-declamation.
On the occasion of Constitution Day, a programme of reading out of the Preamble of the Constitution of India was undertaken in Government Degree College RS Pura under the guidance of Principal Dr Sunita Sudan and supervision of Assistant Professor Meesha Bhagat.
GDC Basohli in collaboration with Civil Administration of Sub District Basohli celebrated Constitution Day in college campus. ADC Basohli Tilak Raj Thappa was the chief guest, while Shama Sharma, Munsiff Basohli was guest of honour. College Principal Dr PK Rao also attended the function.
NCC and NSS wings of GDC Udhampur celebrated Constitution Day. Around 50 students participated in the event to showcase their ideas about the relevance of fundamental duties.
GDC Thanna Mandi celebrated Constitution Day in which NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, teaching and non teaching staff participated. College Principal Dr Prof (Dr) Javaid Ahmed Qazi highlighted the importance of the day. Online lecture on “Constitution: its history and significance” was also presented by Dr Abass Wani, HoD Political Science, GDC Charar-e-Sharief.
A pledge ceremony was organised by the teaching and non-teaching staff of GDC Reasi. Dr Mohammad Aarif and Prof Ajay Kumar from the Department of Political Science and Dr Prem Singh HOD Political Science were among others present on the occasion.
GDC Ramgarh celebrated the Constitution Day. Principal of the College Dr Meeru Abrol said that the Constitution Day is being celebrated in India as a tribute to all the great legends who worked tirelessly to give India its Constitution. On the occasion, Prof Risha Kumari, HOD Punjabi read the Preamble of the Constitution to the gathering.
GDC Akhnoor celebrated Constitution Day under the guidance of Principal Dr Namrata by doing various activities. Students read the Constitution Day Pledge. It was followed by screening a lecture on “Introduction of the Constitution of India” by Dr Piyush Kant Sharma, Assistant Professor in Political Science, GDC Akhnoor.
Government Degree College Mahanpur organized one-day seminar on National Constitution Day, which was inaugurated by Principal RK Koul. Romesh Singh, Tehsildar Mahanpur was the chief guest, while other guests were Shukal Kumar Sanwal, Sarpanch, Mahanpur, Uttam, Patwari, Mahanpur and Madan Lal Raina, JE PWD.
Government Degree College Sidhra celebrated Constitution Day. During the occasion, all staff members, teaching and non-teaching, read the Preamble and pledged. Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Monika Sharma was also present on the occasion.
Government Degree College Surankote celebrated Constitution Day. The event was organised by Department of Political Science in collaboration with IQAC, NSS, NCC and EBSB Clubs of the college. The programme was organised under the guidance of Principal of the College, Dr. Jasbir Singh.
Constitution day was celebrated in GDCW Kathua. On this occasion, a pledge was taken on Preamble of the Constitution in which teaching and non- teaching staff of the College participated. An online Quiz was held by the Department of Political Science in which 50 students of the College participated. The function was held under the guidance of Principal, YP Kundal.
Constitution Day was celebrated by GDC Vijaypur by organizing Online National Level Quiz competition followed by reading of the Preamble and Pledge. In quiz, the first position was shared by Abhay Kumar, GDC Vijaypur, Rameshwar, GDC Vijaypur, Manish Singh, GDC Vijaypur, Anish, GDC Vijaypur, Aseif Ahmad Lodi, MAM PG. College and Nageshwar, GDC Kunjwani. The second position was shared by Manik Kumar GCET Jammu, Sonali Sharma, Cluster University Jammu and Sanjeev; GDC Vijaypur whereas third position was secured by Jyoti Parkash, GDC Kunjwani. The winners of consulation prizes were Suraj GDC Vijaypur and Ashish Sharma GDC Vijaypur. Principal Dr Sangeeta Sudan was also present on the occasion.
National Constitution Day was celebrated at GDC Marh under the supervision of Prof Aekta Gupta Principal GDC Marh. All faculty members, NSS volunteers and staff of ZEO office Marh participated in pledge ceremony. Prof Aekta Gupta Principal GDC Marh was also present on the occasion.
GDC, Jindrah celebrated Constitution Day by taking pledge and the Preamble was read out by staff as well as students under the guidance of the Principal of the College, Professor (Dr) Raj Shree Dhar. It was followed by debate competition on the theme of “Indian Constitution: A living document”. Anil Sharma of 1st semester got 3rd prize, Pallavi Sharma of 5th semester got 2nd prize and Latief of 5th semester got 1st prize.
NCC cadets and NSS volunteers of Government Degree College Samba celebrated the Constitution Day under the leadership of Principal Dr Sushma Mahajan. The programme started with essay writing, followed by poster making. In this, both the NCC and NSS units of GDC Samba participated. The lectures were delivered by students namely Danjeev Giri. BSc-Sem-1 and Tammna Baloria, BA.
Government Degree College Khour celebrated Constitution Day. Principal of the college Prof Hans Raj read the Preamble which was followed by all the teaching and non teaching staff of the college.
Government PG College Rajouri celebrated Constitution Day. On the occasion all the teaching and non teaching staff members of the college participated in preamble reading out ceremony to follow the guiding principles of the Constitution with dignity. College Principal Prof (Dr) Shakeel Ahmed Raina and Dr Ashaq Malik, Secretary Science Club of College, were among others present on the occasion.
Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur under the guidance of its Principal Prof (Dr) Satinder Kaur celebrated Constitution Day and read out the Preamble to the Constitution of the India along with all teaching and non-teaching staff.
Department of Political Science GDC Mendhar in collaboration with the Literary and Culture Committee of the college celebrated Constitution Day. Principal of the college Prof. Dileep Kumar Raina lead to subscribe an oath and read out the preamble of the constitution, with all faculty members, non-teaching staff and students followed the same.
NSS Unit of GCW Udhampur in collaboration with Centre for Women Studies, University of Jammu organised a webinar on the topic “Gender Sensitisation; Understanding how gender figures in our life world.” Dr Nirmala Jadhav, Director Tarabai Shinde Women’s Studies Centre, Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad was the resource person.
Government Degree College Ukhral organized a programme of reading the preamble to the Constitution of India in the college premises to commemorate Constitution Day. Principal of the college Dr Ranvijay singh was also present on the occasion.
Constitution Day was celebrated at SRML Model HSS Parade Jammu under the guidance of Principal Anjali Gupta. A poster making activity (online) was also conducted to assess the awareness of the students regarding Indian Constituion.
Constitution day was celebrated in Model Higher Secondary School Ramnagar. A pledge to uphold the constitutional values was taken by students and staff members. Chief Education Officer Udhampur PD Sharma graced the occasion as chief guest. Principal of the institution Tarsem was also present on the occasion.
Rich Harvest School Bari Brahmana celebrated Constitution Day. All the students and educators joined the reading of the Premable of Indian Constitution. A webinar was also conducted by the senior wing faculty of RHS. Principal Anita Bhatia and Director Ruchi Charak were also present.
To commemorate Constitution Day, the UT Secretariat Ladakh organized a pledge taking ceremony. The pledge was administered by Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department, Ajeet Kumar Sahu. Advisor Ladakh, Umang Narula, Commissioner Secretary, Rigzian Sampheal, Secretary/Divisional Commissioner Ladakh, Saugat Biswas, Administrative Secretary Department of Law and Justice, Preet Pal Singh and Administrative Secretary Ravinder Kumar took part in the pledge ceremony.
Constitution Day was celebrated at Council Secretariat LAHDC, Kargil. Acting Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Mubarak Shah Nagvi in presence of the Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan along with the Councillors and staff members of the Council Secretariat read out the Preamble of the Constitution on the occasion. As a part of the celebrations, Government Degree College organized a webinar on the theme Relevance and Importance of Constitution Day wherein expert speakers from Delhi University and University of Ladakh threw detailed light on different aspects of the Constitution.
