JAMMU, Nov 27: Congress has said that it supports any type of investigation and inquiry against any kind of irregularity by any one, however, any attempt to merely tarnish the image of any high profile person is unfortunate.
In a statement here, Ravinder Sharma-chief spokesperson JKPCC said that Govt and its agencies are free to investigate any kind of irregularity or undue favour but merely tarnishing of image of any citizen without substantially establishing the wrong, is totally undesirable.
He said that some reports in media do not suggest establishing something substantial irregularity in view of the facts, however, it results in tarnishing image of the individuals. There are some bonafide exercise of powers in terms of a legislation unless any substantial illegality or criminality is established. Such reports by the government are not appreciable, however, Congress fully supports any kind investigation against any wrong doing by any one whosesoever, he/she may be irrespective of his/her status.
Sharma also denied that Congress office is on Roshni land and said that the building of Congress office in Jammu is on Evacuee Property on lease hold basis for more than 55 years.
