Ladies protest, block highway

JAMMU, Nov 27: Demanding arrest of accused, ladies held protest at Machine Domana and blocked the Akhnoor-Poonch highway.
As per police sources, demanding arrest of the accused involved in clash over land dispute in Gharota area, ladies held protest and blocked the Akhnoor-Rajouri highway near Machine Domana.
It is pertinent to mention here that clash took place between two parties on November 20 this year, in which four persons including son of notorious gangster Jagdev Singh alias Jeban were injured.
The injured in the clash were Bhavishan Singh (48) alias Tina (ex-sarpanch of Malpur) son of Jagdev Singh alias Jaben and his cousin Vikas Singh (29) son of Rashpal Singh, both residents of Malpur while from other party, Pritam (38) son of Krishan Singh of Berha (Bhalwal) and his brother Utam Singh (40).
Counter FIRs stands registered at Gharota Police Station after the clash and investigation is going on.
After getting information, police team led by SP Rural Sanjay Sharma and SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul rushed to the spot and listened to the grievances of the protestors.
On the assurance, the protesting ladies dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the highway.
However, to disrupt the traffic movement on the highway, a case has been registered at Domana Police Station against unidentified persons.
