JAMMU, Nov 27: BJP State spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan today said finally an era of uncertainty has ended for Valmiki Samaj, Gorkhas and West Pakistan Refugees as lakhs of them are going to cast their votes for the first time in ongoing District Development Council (DDC) elections. This has become possible after their struggle for seven decades succeeded with the abrogation of Article-370 and 35A. This historic occasion will also pave way for their self respect and dignified living.
He expressed these views, while conveying greetings to the members of these sections for bravely fighting against the step motherly treatment and denial of right to vote for decades together. He said that the abrogation of Article-370 and 35A which was always on top agenda of BJP, has been removed and brought smiles on the faces of lakhs of such people, who had been given ill-treatment and denied of such rights which citizens in other parts of the country have been enjoying from the days of the adoption of Constitution.
The Valmikis, Gorkhas and West Pakistan Refugees had to face such treatment for long as none from the successive governments of Congress and NC felt their pain and never deemed it necessary to treat them as respectable citizens but with the BJP getting majority in Lok Sabha and required support in the Rajya Sabha, took a historic and bold decision to remove Article 370 and 35 A, thus giving a Constitutional and Legal safeguard, said Balbir.
The BJP Spokesperson urged upon these voters to DDCs to cast their valuable votes in bulk in favour of BJP, as it is the only political party which has played an important role in removal of hurdles between them and the Panchayati Raj Institutions for a long time.
