JAMMU, Nov 28: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today expressed contentment over encouraging polling percentage in the first phase of polls in Valley calling the change as deciding factor as far as mood of the electorate is concerned.
Addressing an election rally in Nagrota segment, he said that the encouraging polling numbers that too braving vagaries of weather are the testimony to the fact that BJP has succeeded in bringing vibrancy to democracy at the ground level and people have started showing undaunted faith in the policies of Saffron party shunning completely the support they earlier extended to dynastic political parties including Congress, NC and PDP.
The senior BJP leader said that BJP’s prolific policies in J&K have worked to convince the people in believing democratic principles and that is the reason that from two to three per cent voting in the past, Kashmir today witnessed impressive faith of people in power of ballot.
“Abrogation of Article 370 and other revolutionary steps in J&K by BJP-led dispensation are proving to be renaissance as far as bringing back normalcy is concerned and today’s polling percentage has made it clear that BJP is treading on right track”, he said, adding it is now matter of days for flowers of peace and prosperity to once again blossom in Valley and tourists from across the world heading towards the ‘heaven on earth’ to enjoy the splendid beauty of nature and people’s hospitality.
Kavinder asked the locals in Nagrota to flock in favour of party’s candidate Joginder Singh to ensure flawless development. He said that there is no match to BJP as all other entities in the political spectrum in J&K are opportunistic and have track record of failing the electorate for petty political gains. He said that the vote in favour of BJP is vote for change which people are lurching for so long.
Bali Bhagat ex Minister, Ranjit Singh, Kali Dass, Ved Parkash and Swaran Singh also accompanied Kavinder Gupta during his whirlwind tour to the block for garnering votes in favour of BJP.
