JAMMU, Dec 2: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that J&K needs a new direction as BJP has proved to be utter flopped to take the country on the path of development and progress.
“The policies of BJP have flopped. I can tell you with guarantee that they can do no good to this country,” Bhalla said, adding BJP had ‘befooled’ the people of the State and failed to keep the promises it had made during the previous assembly poll campaign. He said during a public rally while campaigning in favour of Congress candidate Gurmeet Kour at Raika and Bermini in Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
He said that the Government has failed to initiate steps to give a boost to the local economy, generate employment opportunities and ensure overall development of J&K. Bhalla said earlier, the Union Government rolled out Rs 20 lakh crore package under the umbrella of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ but its impact in J&K has been negligible in J&K.
Bhalla said that Congress has always remained on the forefront for highlighting the issues of people of J&K and Congress candidate deserves to be extended full support. He said an imminent drubbing awaits BJP in ongoing DDC elections who sought to capture and neutralize our institutions by dishonest means ditching all established democratic and constitutional norms.
He appealed to the people to exercise their franchise in favour of Congress candidate, as congress guarantees for peace and prosperity in J&K and the country. Hitting out at the BJP for creating huge disillusionment among all sections of society, former Minister said that his party alone can safeguard sentiments and aspirations of people of J&K.
Alleging that Jammu and Kashmir was facing immense onslaught from all sides, the former Minister said, today, forces inimical to our identity are also trying to distort our history. He further expressed that invoking of land laws in J&K is also an attempt to crush the common masses of the J&K as it is only to harass them and nothing more.
