IIPA deliberates on economic overview, 12th Five Year Plan

IIPA members releasing biannual news letter on Saturday.

JAMMU, May 4: J&K Regional Branch of Indian Institute of Public Administration today organized a lecture by B R Lachotra, Director, Economics & Statistics, J&K, on economics overview and focus of 12th five year plan 2012-17.
Mr Lachotra made emphasis on faster, sustainable and inclusive growth. He said that the global economics crisis of 2008-09 and 2010-11 have necessitated  planners, policy makers, economists, researchers, statistician etc  to revisit our growth models and explore ways and means to make it more inclusive and sustainable.
Prof Dipankar Sen Gupta, Head, Deptt of Economics, University of Jammu, also deliberated upon the subject and said that maintaining growth and price stability were  two major challenges of macroeconomics policy making.
Y V Sharma, president, Chamber of Commerce and Industries Jammu, focused on the highlights and objectives of 12th Five Year Plan.
IIPA biannual news letter of April, 2013 was also released on the occasion by IIPA Chairman Dr Ashok Bhan and J B S Johar, honorary secretary, alongwith other dignitaries.
Vikram Gour presented vote of thanks while the function was anchored by V N Sharma.
