UDHAMPUR, Dec 4: Following death of a young man, who was beaten up during clash between two families, Ramnagar Police has arrested three persons while another accused is absconding.
The deceased, identified as Romesh Singh (34), son of Jaswant Singh of Barmeen, was severely beaten up by the accused persons at Barmeen, Hartiyaan Gordi in district Udhampur on November 23.
According to Police, Romesh Singh was beaten up with sticks and bows by Pardeep Singh (19) and Kulbir Singh (32), sons of Romal Singh, Karan Singh (25), son of Kamal Singh and Rakesh Singh, son of Raghuvir Singh, all residents of Barmeen. The victim had sustained severe head injury and was shifted to GMC Hospital Jammu where he died last night.
Following death of the victim, the FIR registered in PS Ramnagar under Section 307/34 IPC on 24 November, was converted into a murder case under Section 302 IPC. On the directions of SSP Udhampur Sargun Shukla, a Police team led by SDPO Ramnagar G R Bhardwaj along with SHO Ramnagar, Inspr Charanjeet Singh and Incharge PP Gordi Bhupesh Singh, raided different locations and apprehended three accused while the fourth one was absconding till filing of this report.
