Secy Power Ladakh inspects various distribution, receiving stations

LEH, Dec 4: Secretary Power & NRE UT Ladakh, visited different sites of Power Department around Leh town.
He visited under-construction 6.3 MVA, 66/11 KV substation in the town under Centrally sponsored scheme IPDS. He expressed displeasure over the pace of the project by the implementing agency RECPDCL and directed to submit an activity wise schedule of completion.
The Secretary also inspected some distribution transformers installed under IPDS. The PIA informed that most of the distribution transformers under CSS IPDS and PMDP Urban have been installed but these DTs could not be charged due to very low temperature which can lead to damage of cables. However efforts are being made to charge as many DTs as possible, added the PIA.
Secretary also inspected the works executed under CSS PAPDRP, and the PIA RECPDCL informed that all the DTs and associated works, like improvement of 11KV lines, installation of poles both in LT and HT network, laying of AB Cable and service line connections have been completed and charged in full.
Secretary inspected under construction 6.3MVA Receiving Station at Chuchot being executed under CSS, PMDP Rural by PIA PGCIL and directed the PIA to expedite the project and also to furnish activity wise completion schedule. Secretary visited the 100 MVA, 220/66KV GIS Grid station at Phyang and went around the two GIS stations both on the 220 and 66KV side and the control room. Secretary was informed by the PGCIL officials that around 35 MW of Power is being supplied through different 66/11KV substations in Leh from this Grid Station these days, which is mainly imported through the Srinagar Leh Transmission System. PGCIL was instructed to ensure fitness of both 220KV lines in order to ensure smooth Power supply during the harsh winter.
Secretary also inspected 2x10MVA Receiving Station Bobgarh, Leh and also the control room of PDD. Secretary was informed that main town Leh is being supplied from this substation. This station has been augmented from 2×6.3 MVA to 2×10 MVA under CSS, IPDS with RECPDCL as the PIA. Presently about 15MW of power is being supplied from this station.
Secretary Power was accompanied with Chief Engineer Distribution, Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineers RECPDCL and others.
