SRINAGAR, Dec 4: The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir Police today seized Heroin like substance worth about Rs 1.5 crores in Malangpora, Awantipora besides arresting a notorious drug dealer.
According to SP ANTF Vinay Sharma, said that their unit received specific information that a drug smuggling bid was being attempted in a Maruti Swift car bearing registration number JK 18 8056 by a notorious drug dealer.
On receiving this information, ANTF said that its team swung into action and intercepted the said car.
“The car was searched and driver apprehended, and from his possession heroin-like substance worth about Rs 1.5 crores was recovered and seized. The driver has been identified as Abdul Rasheed Bhat, S/o Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, R/o Larkipora, Awantipora,” it said.
An FIR in this regard has been registered under relevant sections of law and ANTF is investigating further links. More arrests are expected.
