JAMMU, Dec 4: LIC employees under the banner of Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association (Srinagar Division) as per the call of All India Insurance Employees’ Association held massive demonstrations today in front of LIC offices of Jammu & Kashmir.
The demonstration in Jammu region was led by Pawan Gupta, Divisional Secretary NZIEA Srinagar Division; and in Valley region, was led by AM Tantray, Divisional president and Ajaz Ahmad Dar, joint secretary, Fyaz Gul, vice president, Amarjeet Singh, Syed Aadil Imam, Bashir Ahmad, Abdul Majid Sheikh and Parvaiz Ahmad.
Speaking on the occasion at LIC office DO Cell Jammu, Pawan Gupta, lambasted the NDA Government for its anti- farmers policies due to which farmers have been on roads for their demands. LIC employees have always supported the cause of the farmers and have always opposed the policies against farmers due to which large number of farmers were compelled to commit suicide. He demanded the true implementation of Dr MS Swaminathan Commission so that the farmers may get 150% of the cost of production.
He also opposed the contract farming and demanded to continue to limit the stock of the essential commodities to stop the black marketing. He further opposed the agenda of the NDA Govt for privatizing all the public sector enterprises and opening the economy to full blast of both the domestic and foreign capital. He strongly opposed the privatization in agriculture sector.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Romesh Chand, Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Raj Kumar Sharma, Neelam Sharma, Kishore Lal, Rajesh Kumar, Raj Kumar, Alkiya Sharma and Priya Sharma.
The demonstration was led by Rajesh Gupta at Jammu-1, Sham Sunder and RP Singh at Jammu-2, Vijay Verma at Kathua, Kuldeep Singh at Samba, Rajesh Sapolia at RS Pura, Moti Ram and Sham Singh at Udhampur, Ram Raj at Doda, Raj Kumar at Poonch and Khaliq Hussain and Vinod Sharma at Rajouri.
