Srinagar, Dec 5: Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) National General Secretary Tarun Chug today said that the time of the dynasty politics and the dynasty rule has ended in J&K and that the region will feel the difference soon.
Flanked by former BJP minister Shahnawaz Hussain, and BJP’s National Spokesman and Rajya Sabha MP Syed Zafar Islam, Chug was addressing a press conference at the BJP’s Srinagar office.

While stating that he was glad to see voters coming out in large numbers to vote for candidates in DDC polls, he said that the “Gupkar Gang” is unnerved over the growing popularity of BJP Jammu & Kashmir.
“It (the participation of people in elections) indicates the time for dynasty politics is over now. Dynasty leaders who used to fight each other till yesterday have united against BJP,” he said.
Criticising Dr Farooq and Mehbooba Mufti over their Pakistan, China comments, Chug said that they should stop talking about them and should rather campaign for retrieval of Kashmir under Pakistan.
“They should stop talking about China’s intrusion in Leh and Pakistan’s involvement in promoting militancy and separatism and should rather talk about how Kashmir under the illegal control of Pakistan can be retrieved,” he said.
He also accused the National Conference and PDP of looting of J&K’s resources through dynasty rule. “NC and PDP are unnerved by BJP’s growing popularity. BJP is growing in J&K like a storm and reach every village and district,” he said.
He said that there is a need for understanding the fact why J&K remained far away from real development. He also accused both the parties of promoting corruption and nepotism.
“Late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed spoke against corruption when he took over but never acted against NC’s big fish,” he said.
“See how Mumbai emerged as a dream city for everyone. Bangalore is a technology hub today and Hyderabad is a place where dreams come true. The question is why Srinagar and Jammu remained away from the development,” he asked.
Chug said that Srinagar and Jammu will be taken to new heights soon.
“Now the democracy has started flourishing in J&K, Srinagar and Jammu will stand in comparison with Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad in 2030; the difference is going to be visible,” he said.
