BJP gave impetus to tourism sector in J&K: Raina

JAMMU, Dec 6: President of Jammu Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ravinder Raina today said that National Conference (NC) and Congress plundered Jammu and Kashmir for 40 years, it is BJP which only worked on the ground to solve peoples issues.
Ravinder Raina along with other BJP leaders was campaigning for party candidates in the ongoing DDC elections in Mandal, Miran Sahib and other areas here, today.
Raina said that projects started by Tourism and Culture Ministry will boost the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that he agrees that the tourism and culture sector has seen the worst time during the COVID 19 lockdown, but it will soon take a big leap. The artist fraternity in Jammu and Kashmir and tourism sector will get a big relief as several projects in the two sectors are being launched soon, he added.
He said, the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of India is considering to recommend about 100 roads to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to explore the tourism and the cultural landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry has started work to connect some areas in the Kashmir region to Ramnagar, Basantgarh and Udhampur etc. the tourism and culturally important sites of the region. Influx of more tourists means more work for local people, he added.
Questioning the duty of previous Governments, he said “dynasty rule” promoted “infiltration”, but not tourism. The BJP Government will ensure the development of tourism and culture, he added.
Questioning the integrity of the previous Governments, Raina said, the “dynasts” have always promoted factionalism but not Tourism. Once voted to power, the BJP Government will ensure development of Tourism & Culture, he added.
