4 pc polling by migrants

JAMMU, Dec 7: Again a very low four percent polling was reported in fourth phase of DDC elections for Kashmir valley by the migrants today at specially created polling booths at Jammu and Udhampur.
As per official sources, 222 votes were polled by Kashmiri migrants on specially created 16 polling booths at Government Degree College for Women Gandhi Nagar while 10 votes were polled at Specially created polling booth at Udhampur out of 5827 ballot papers received by the Returning Officer Migrants for these DDC constituencies.
Total 17 DDC constituencies went to polls in various districts of Kashmir valley today and Election authorities had created 17 polling booths at GDC for Women at Gandhi Nagar. However, one polling booth was cancelled in the morning as no notification and election material for that was received by the polling staff on duty.
This was stated by ARO Migrants, Anushman Singh. He said out of 17 booths polling was cancelled on Polling Station Awantipora Second of South Kashmir, district Pulwama as no notification and election material for that polling booth was received.
Maintaining that four percent voting was done by Kashmiri migrants today, he said 10 votes were polled at special polling booths at Government Higher Secondary School Udhampur while 222 votes were polled at 16 polling booths at GDC Women Gandhi Nagar.
