RAMBAN, Dec 9: A Government school-cum-polling station was completely gutted in fire, which broke out due to LPG cylinder blast, late tonight.
As per police sources, a LPG cylinder kept inside Government High School Dhalwas caught fire and later exploded.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and informed the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
Fire fighters along with tenders reached the spot and started operation to douse the flames.
After hectic efforts, the fire was brought under control, but till then the Government school was completely gutted.
A polling station was made at this Government institute for conducting phase-VI of DDC elections to be held tomorrow.
All the employees, who were deputed for the polling along with others, were safely evacuated from the school building.
Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
