Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 13 animals rescued

KATHUA, Dec 10: Tightening the noose around bovine smugglers here, a team from Police Station Lakhanpur rescued 13 bovines which were illegally loaded in a truck.
A handout stated that a police team led by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO Lakhanpur Police Station while on Naka checking duty at Toll Plaza Lakanpur intercepted one Canter bearing number UK04CA/ 8647 coming from Punjab and signalled it to stop for checking.
During checking of the vehicle 13 bovine animals were found loaded in it in a cruel manner illegally.
The driver and his associate were arrested by the police.
A case has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur in this regard U/S 188 IPC, 11 PC Act against the Akther Ali son of Asgar Ali of Nanglia Tehsil & District Rampur UP and associate Rashid son of Bashir of Tanda Badli Tehsil Tanda District Rampur UP. Further investigation of the case is going on.
