RAJOURI, Dec 10: The police arrested a bootlegger and recovered 100 bottles of smuggled liquor at Kallar Chowk near Rajouri today.
The accused has been identified as Anil Sharma, son of Kali Dass, a resident of Sassalkote, Doongi area of Rajouri.
The police said a team headed by Chatyar Chingus police post incharge, SI Ashish Chowdhary under the supervision of SHO Rajouri, Sameer Jillani was on routine frisking of vehicles on Jammu-Rajouri highway at Kallar when a vehicle bearing registration No. JK11B/ 6908 was intercepted.
One hundred bottles of smuggled liquor were recovered from the vehicle and seized on the spot. Police said that a case under relevant Sections of law has been registered in Rajouri Police station against the accused smuggler.
