Vote for development, transformation of rural landscape: Slathia

VIJAYPUR, Dec 11: Former Minister and senior National Conference (NC) leader, Surjeet Singh Slathia asked the people to vote for NC candidates in the ongoing District Development Council (DDC) elections here.
The NC leader claimed that support of people will go a long way in ensuring development of Vijaypur and transformation of its rural landscape.
“Let’s resolve to transform the entire Vijaypur segment with thrust and focus on rural development,” Slathia said while addressing the people at village Rangoor, Dhopsadi, Bakha Chak and Kandral areas of Ramgarh at the conclusion of election campaign.
He said there is urgent need for devising a futuristic plan for developing the area on modern lines with impetus on credible road network and dependable utility services.
“This has been totally ignored by the BJP during the past six years resulting in numerous problems to the people. Special emphasis is required to be laid on internal road connectivity,” the NC leader said claiming that strategically placed border constituency has peculiar requirements which crave for priority attention.
He sought vote and support of people, saying this will give strength to his party to pursue their cause especially with regard to employment to the youth etc. Slathia also claimed that approach of BJP towards the plight of border dwellers was not proper which has added to the miseries of border residents.
Referring to importance of public involvement in taking forward developmental scenario, the NC leader said that present elections unfold an opportunity to the people to be masters of their own destiny.
He claimed that the youth and women being major stakeholders of prosperous Vijaypur have onerous responsibility in shaping the destiny of the area.
The public meetings were attended by Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens of these villages.
