RAMBAN, Dec 11: Batote police arrested a drug peddler along with poppy straw and cannabis.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Batote Police Station laid a naka near Army Gate Dharmund and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 1 kilogram poppy straw and 20 grams cannabis from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Raj Kumar, son of Mir Chand, a resident of Champa tehsil Batote District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 76/2020 under Sections 8/15/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Batote and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Batote Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Rajinder Singh Chib, Additional SP Ramban Rajni Sharma and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman.
