Hit & run case solved, driver arrested

JAMMU, Dec 11: Bahu Fort Police solved a hit and run case with the arrest of the accused driver and seizure of vehicle.
As per police sources, a man identified as Ashok Kumar, son of Mir Chand of Poonch House Talab Tillo was killed when his scooty was hit by unidentified tanker at Panama Chowk near Railway bridge yesterday.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for autopsy.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under FIR Number 340/2020 under relevant Sections was registered at Bahu Fort Police Station and hunt was launched to trace out the unidentified tanker.
After hectic efforts, a team from Bahu Fort Police Station led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania traced out the vehicle involved in hit and run case and seized it. The accused driver identified as Ajay Kumar, son of Prem Nath, a resident of Garhi District Udhampur has also been arrested.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
