Police rescues 13 bovines, seizes 2 vehicles for illegal mining

KATHUA, Dec 13: Tightening the noose on bovine smugglers in Kathua, a team of Police Station, Lakhanpur rescued 13 bovines which were found loaded illegally in a truck.
As per reports a team of Police Station, Lakhanpur led by Inspector, Sanjeev Chib SHO, PS Lakhanpur while on naka checking duty at Truck Terminal, Lakhanpur, intercepted one truck bearing Registration Number JK02AS-7981 coming from Punjab and signalled it to stop for checking. During checking of the vehicle 13 bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicle in a cruel manner. The driver and his associate were arrested by the police team on the spot.
In this regard, an instant case has been registered at PS Lakhanpur vide FIR 112/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PC Act against the driver of Truck namely, Ramneek Singh, S/o Harnaik Singh R/o W.No 3, R.S Pura Jammu and their accomplice namely Liquat Ali, S/o Bashir Ahmed R/o Upper Thana Udhampur and Shabaz, S/o Intzar R/o Sharnpur Tehsil Nakood U.P. Further investigation of the case is going on.
Meanwhile, Police Post, Basantpur during a raid against illegal mining seized two vehicles involved in illegal mining in Sukhal Khad in its jurisdiction. The police team was led by Incharge PP Basantpur, SI, Sikander Singh.
The team during its raid found a JCB and a tractor were busy in illegal mining in Sukhal Khad in the area and they seized both the vehicles.
Later the District Mining Officer, Kathua was informed for further investigation.
