Landlord’s son held for raping worker’s daughter

JAMMU, Dec 13: Bahu Fort police arrested absconding landlord’s son for raping daughter of migrant worker in Trikuta Nagar area.
As per police sources, a 20-year-old daughter of a migrant worker hailing from Chattisgarh was alone at her hutment in Trikuta Nagar on December 9 this year when a man identified as Ajay Kumar (25), son of Som Nath a resident of Trikuta Nagar allegedly barged into the hutment and allegedly raped her at knife point.
It is pertinent to mention here that there are several hutments on the land (plot) of Som Nath at Trikuta Nagar and one has been taken on rent by victim’s family.
Before escaping from the spot, the accused threatened the victim of dire consequences if she narrated the ordeal to anyone.
Later, the girl narrated the whole incident to her family members, who lodged a complaint against Ajay Kumar at Police Station Bahu Fort.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 338/2020 under Section 376 IPC has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and hunt has been launched to arrest the alleged rapist.
On specific information, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by SI Mohammad Iqbal under the supervision of SDPO East Bikram Kumar arrested the alleged rapist from a hideout in Parjani area of District Samba.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
