JAMMU, Dec 16: Three persons were killed and one another was injured in road accidents, here today.
As per police sources, a man identified as Maharaj Krishan Bhan, son of Janki Nath of Vinayak Nagar Muthi District Jammu was seriously injured when the scooty he was riding was hit by a car at main stop Gandhi Nagar.
The profusely bleeding victim was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu where doctors declared him as brought dead.
After conducting autopsy at GMCH Jammu, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
The driver of the car identified as Pridhaman Krishan Koul, son of Maheshwar Nath Koul of Shastri Nagar District Jammu has been arrested and the vehicles have been seized.
Meanwhile, a youth was killed in head on collision between motorcycle and mini-bus at Saldi area on Reasi-Katra road.
The deceased has been identified as Abhinash (24), son of Shiv Dass of Manotrian Tehsil Katra District Reasi.
Both the vehicles have been seized by the police and hunt has been launched to arrest mini-bus driver, who escaped from the spot.
In another similar incident, a pedestrian was killed after hit by unknown vehicle near Bhalwal area of Akhnoor.
The deceased has been identified as Bal Krishan, son of Gian Chand of Bhalwal Brahmana, Akhnoor.
The body has been shifted to mortuary of SDH Akhnoor for autopsy.
However, a man identified as Hridaynath Raina, son of late Darshan Lal Raina, a resident of Model Town Gangyal was injured after hit by a car in Gangyal area.
He has been shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Gandhi Nagar, Reasi, Akhnoor and Gangyal Police Stations and investigation started.
