4 women die of Corona in Jammu, one casualty in Valley

21 new cases in Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Dec 16: Four women, three in Jammu district and one in Reasi, died of COVID-19 in Jammu region while Kashmir reported one Corona casualty today as 332 persons tested positive and 415 others recovered from the virus in the Union Territory.
A female Deputy Superintendent of Police today tested positive for virus in Jammu.
A 38-year-old woman, hailing from village Dugga Arnas in Reasi district, who was suffering from chronic kidney disease and was positive for COVID-19, died in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, Medical Superintendent Dr Dara Singh said.
A 60-year-old woman from Roop Nagar Jammu died of hypertension and Coronavirus in Narayana hospital Katra while 54-year-old woman from Channi Himmat died of ailments and virus in Dayanand Medical College (DMC) Ludhiana.
A 47-year-old woman from Nagrota, who was suffering from Cancer and was positive for pathogen, died in ASCOMS Sidhra.
A 73-year-old man from Munawarabad area of Srinagar City died of COVID-19.
Jammu region reported 181 Corona cases today including 96 in Jammu district, 14 each Udhampur and Kathua, 12 each Rajouri and Doda, 11 Samba, eight Kishtwar, seven Ramban, five Reasi and two in Poonch district.
Among 239 recoveries in the region, 82 were reported from Jammu district, 53 Samba, 31 Udhampur, 24 Kathua, 21 Doda, 17 Kishtwar, eight Rajouri and three in Ramban district. No recoveries were reported from Poonch and Reasi districts.
Jammu region now has 47941 Corona cases. Of them, 45221 have recovered from the virus while there have been 2060 active positive cases and 660 casualties in the region including 336 in Jammu district, 60 Doda, 54 Udhampur, 53 Rajouri, 47 Kathua, 34 Samba, 22 Poonch, 21 each Kishtwar and Ramban and 12 in Reasi district.
The Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 21 Corona cases-18 in Leh and three in Kargil district taking Corona tally to 9238. Of total cases, 8576 have been treated while 539 are still active.
There have been 123 casualties in Ladakh including 80 in Leh and 43 in Kargil district.
Total fatality count in J&K has reached 1817-1157 in the Valley.
Srinagar district with 437 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 169, Budgam 105, Pulwama 88, Kupwara 88, Anantnag 82, Bandipora 57, Kulgam 53, Ganderbal 41 and Shopian.
In Kashmir, 151 persons tested positive taking the Jammu and Kashmir infection tally to 116932.
Srinagar reported 53, Baramulla 19, Budgam 19, Kupwara 13, Pulwama 12, Anantnag 15, Bandipora 9, Ganderbal 10 and Shopian 1 fresh cases today.
With fresh cases, Srinagar has 24444 positive cases now with 1056 active, 22951 recovered, 437 deaths; Baramulla has 7773 positive cases with 175 active, 7429 recovered, 169deaths; Pulwama reported 5324 positive cases with 171 active cases, 5065 recovered, 88 deaths; Kulgam has 2630 positive cases with 64 active, 2513 recoveries, 53 deaths; Shopian has 2433 positive cases with 76 active, 2320 recovered and 37 deaths; Anantnag district has 4686 positive cases with 111 active, 4493 recovered, 82 deaths; Budgam has 7362 positive cases with 272 active and 6985 recovered, 105 deaths; Kupwara has 5400 positive cases with 174 active, 5138 recovered, 88 deaths; Bandipora has 4564 positive cases with 81 active, 4426 recovered, 57 deaths and Ganderbal has 4375 positive cases with 106 active cases, 4228recoveries and 41 deaths.
Moreover, 415 more COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 176 from Kashmir division today.
