RANSOO (REASI), May 7: Labour class is the back bone of any developing nation and its role assumes special significance in a country like India which is going through rapid economic progress and is tipped to be a global power in the next quarter of a century.
This was stated here today by BJP J&K Chief Spokesperson and National Executive Member, Dr Jitendra Singh while addressing a mammoth Mazdoor rally organized by Bharatiya Mazdoor Maha Sangh at Ransoo, Shiv Khori near here.
Referring to the local labour problems of Shiv Khori, he said it is a strange paradox that even though this place is receiving thousands of pilgrim tourists each day, yet the Poniwallas, Palkiwallas and Pithus remain under-paid with no incentives and no proper insurance cover. He called for setting up proper veterinary centre for taking care of the ailing ponies and horses.
Another local labour problem, he said, is that the JK Coal Mine project functioning over here earlier has been closed down for the last few years rendering hundreds of local laborers unemployed.
State convenor of Bhartiya Mazdoor Mahasangh, Lal Hussain Lodha and Shamsher Singh, District President of Bharatiya Mazdoor Mahasangh presented a resume of their activities.
Prominent among those present on the occassion were Ajay Nanda BJP District President Reasi, Chain Singh party’s district general secretary, Chaman Lal Bhagat, Sushil Sudan, Sarpanch Kewal Sharma, Sarpanch Bal Singh and others.
