JAMMU, Dec 17: A man and his mother were today found dead under mysterious conditions in different areas of Jammu district.

As per police sources, a body was recovered from a river Chenab in Akhnoor area of Jammu district who was identified as Pankaj Anand, son of Rishi Anand of Talab Tillo.
“During search of body, room key of a private hotel was recovered which was of PR Hotel located in Bakshi Nagar,” sources said, adding that later a team from Bakshi Nagar Police Station rushed to the spot and opened the hotel room using the key recovered from the body.
“A woman was found lying dead inside the hotel room, who has been identified as Sarita Devi, wife of Rishi Anand of Talab Tillo, mother of the man found dead in Akhnoor,” sources informed.
Police have taken both the bodies into possession while medico-legal formalities are going on and it has come to the fore that man found dead in Akhnoor is son of woman whose body was recovered from a hotel room in Bakshi Nagar.
Inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Akhnoor and Bakshi Nagar Police.
