JAMMU, Dec 17: Government today re-constituted expert committee under the Rights of Persons with Disability (PwD) Act, 2016.
According to the order, the committee will be chaired by Administrative Secretary, General Administration Department while as Administrative Secretary, Tribal Affairs Department or his representative not below the rank of Additional Secretary as well as Administrative Secretary, Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs shall be its members.
Other members of the committee will be one representative each (not below the rank of Additional Secretary) from Social Welfare Department, Health & Medical Education Department and Finance Department. Besides, two employees with benchmark disabilities will be nominated as committee members by GAD. Further, one member from NGO dealing with persons with disabilities will be nominated by Social Welfare Department.
