Role of Opposition

Sir,
The role of the opposition in advanced and healthy democracies is always constructive. They appreciate the Government for the good works and criticize only the wrongs of the Government. But in India for last many years now we have been watching the negative role of the opposition. Even if the Government does the good things for the common people, the opposition criticizes these not only verbally but also through cheap politics. The present opposition should learn how the opposition leader of the then Lok Sabha, Atal Behari Vajpayee praised Indira Gnadhi and called her Durga. Those were the days when the opposition played the role for the interests of the country. These are the days when the opposition does not care for the interests of the country but by sacrificing the national interests, they politicize the things just for political interests. Should then India be called a healthy democracy?
