Pak shelling in 2 sectors

JAMMU, Dec 18: Pakistan army today opened heavy fire and shelled forward posts in two sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district.
Indian troops retaliated befittingly in both the Sectors, sources said. At 5.40 pm today, the Pakistan army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along the LoC in Mendhar and Balakote sectors in district Poonch,” sources said.
They added that Pakistan army targeted forward defence posts and civilian areas. The Indian side retaliated effectively and silenced the Pakistani guns.
Exchange of shelling stopped after about an hour.
The LoC has witnessed heavy firing and shelling during the last few weeks, resulting in an increased number of casualties on Pakistan side.
