REASI, Dec 19: Sand mafia goons attempted to attack SHO Arnas when a Police party seized some vehicles engaged in smuggling of illegal mining along river beds, here last night.
Police has arrested the accused, identified as Ajay Dev Singh, who along with some goons attacked SHO, Inspector Rajesh Goutam and his team. In this connection, FIR number 109/20, U/S 353/147/427/504/506 IPC has been registered at Police Station Arnas.
Reports said that a Police party raided various locations along river bed and seized a Tipper belonging to Ajay Dev Singh son of Karnail Singh of Thanpal and two tractor trolleys, owned by Kulwant Singh son of Romal Singh of Gabbbar Garhi and Bodh Raj son of Chuni Lal of Narloo Sai .
For further necessary action, the matter was brought into the notice of DMO Reasi, who imposed penalty on the vehicle owners. Later, Ajay Dev Singh along with some goons attempted to attack SHO Arnas. Ajay Dev was arrested on the spot while his accomplices Bubby Kumar and others ran away after attacking the SHO.
