Cong for action against those behind attack on candidate

JAMMU, Dec 19: Congress Party has demanded stern action against those involved in attack on Congress candidate Parveen Sarwar Khan in Mendhar area today.
While sterming it as murderous attack by the suppoters of a rival candidate today upon the party candidate, senior JKPCC leaders demanded stern action in the matter and arrest of the culprits.
Former minister and vice president Raman Bhalla and chief spokesperson of the party Ravinder Sharma termed the attack on the the party candidate as a serious matter and asked the administration to deal sternly with the culprits under law.
Chief spokesperson spoke to SSP Poonch, Romesh Angral and conveyed the concern of the party to him and sought strong action.The SSP assured him to take appropriate action in the incident.
Sharma said already there were such incidents and complaints resulting into orders of re polling of two polling stations on Dec 21. Sarwar Khan was reportedly on way to a holy place to pay obeisance, when on way she was attacked and seriously injured and hospitalised at Mendhar. Raman Bhalla and Sharma urged the Election Commission to take cognizance of the matter for appropriate action besides registration of criminal case of serious nature.
