SAMBA, Dec 19: District police Samba has arrested eight gamblers in the jurisdiction of PS Vijaypur and recovered stake money of Rs 13,700 from their possession.
Acting on specific information regarding gambling, a police team of Police Station, Vijaypur raided the gambling spot near Ward No 12, Vijaypur and arrested eight gamblers along with stake money of Rs 13,700 with two sets of playing cards.
The gamblers have been identified as Khem Parshad, S/o Visheshwar Parshad, Dineshwar Parshad Sahu, S/o Rameshwar Parshad, Sant Ram Bagel, S/o Meather Bagel, Ajay Kumar Chandra, S/o Amrit Lal Chandra, Gansham, S/o Gokul Sahu, Behra S/o Surit Ram, Dinesh Kumar Sahu, S/o Tula Ram Sahu and Mukesh Kumar S/o Resham Lal Sahu.
All are residents of Chhattisgarh A/P Ward No 12, Vijaypur. Taking cognizance into the matter, all the gamblers were booked under section 13 of Gambling Act at PS Vijaypur.
