JAMMU, May 8: Akhnoor Police today arrested an absconder, who was evading his arrest for the last 12 years.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Akhnoor police station laid a naka and arrested the absconder.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR No. 139/2002 at Akhnoor police station.
The absconder identified as Darshan Lal, son of Govind Ram of Burn, Gharota, was involved in an accident case, in which one person was killed, he added.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police party led by SHO Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Rayees Mohd Bhat.
