JAMMU, Dec 24: A man has been arrested for raping minor girl in Chak Largan area of Bajalta, here.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a man with Police Station Nagrota stating that her 17-year-old daughter has been allegedly raped by a man identified as Naveen Baksh, son of Mohammad Sharief, a resident of Sindoori Kana Chargal Bajalta.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 457/2020 under Section 4 POCSO Act was registered at Police Station Nagrota and hunt was launched to nab the allegedly rapist.
On reliable information, a team from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket conducted raid and apprehended the alleged rapist.
After conducting medical examination, the girl was handed over to family members.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
