KATHUA, Dec 25: Two army personnel were killed and one seriously injured after a wall of their barrack collapsed at Machhedi in Billawar area.
The incident occurred this evening when 158 Battalion of Territorial Army personnel were working in their barrack,” Army sources said.
They said one of the walls of the barrack suddenly collapsed and three Army personnel came under the debris. A rescue operation was launched immediately and all the three soldiers with grievous injuries were retrieved from the debris.
“The injured personnel were immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Billawar where doctors declared two of them as brought dead,” sources said, adding, the deceased were identified as Subedar S N Singh son of Tota Ram of Sonipat (Haryana) and Naik Pervez Kumar son of Madan Lal of Samba.
They said the injured Sepoy Mangal Singh son of Jeela Singh of Panipat (Haryana) was referred to Military Hospital Pathakot while the bodies of the deceased Army personnel were shifted to mortuary room of SDH Billawar.
