UDHAMPUR, Dec 27: In a tragic road accident, a young motorcyclist and his pillion rider friend were killed when a truck hit their bike near Khoon in Majalta, here last evening.
The deceased were identified as Susheel Kumar (23), son of Baldev Raj of Jakhenu and Pankaj Kumar (22), son of Ramesh Chand of Jakhenu.
The accident took place near Khoon when the Motorcycle, bearing Registration number JK02BA-6110 was hit by a Truck PB06- AV-9857. Both the bike riders reportedly died on the spot while the truck driver managed to flee leaving his vehicle on the spot.
Later, the body was sent for postmortem at PHC Majalta. The police after completion of all the formalities and postmortem handed over the body to family members.
Police has registered a case in this connection and seized the truck while a hunt was on to nab the driver.
