Gastrointestinal, liver disease camp at JK Medicity

JAMMU, May 10:  A two day gastrointestinal  and liver disease camp named ‘Ayush’ organized by Surgical Gastroenterology and Liver Transplantation Department of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi, commenced today at JK Medicity Super Speciality Hospital.
The organizers are planning to make the camp a monthly feature at the Super Speciality Hospital for the benefits of patients from Jammu.The first Ayush camp is being conducted by Dr Abhideep Chaudhary, consultant, surgical Gastroenterology and Liver Transplantation Department, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi. He will be returning to Jammu every month from June as a part of the 4-member specialist unit, that will address patients who require opinion-based treatment.
The other parts of the Unit will be Dr Saumitra Rawat, senior Consultant, Dr Suresh Singhvi, Senior Consultant and Dr KR Vasudevan, Consultant.
Talking about what makes Ayush camp stands apart from other such camps, Dr Chaudhary said, “Since the camp is being organized in a Super Speciality Hosipital, all the diagnosis, tests and scans can be conducted under one roof, which will enhance the quality of services provided to the patients and also allow us to carry out a more in-depth analysis of the patient’s condition utilizing the latest advents in medical technology”.
A comprehensive care will be provided to the patients both at JK Medicity, Jammu and at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi, if needed, he added.
Dr Chaudhary further said that it is important to educate people about liver transplantation, as contrary to the perception of masses, liver transplantation is now a highly successful surgey after which individuals can lead near -to-normal lives.
