JAMMU, Dec 28: The District Development Council (DDC) members today took oath only by the Constitution of India.
It is for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that the candidates who won the elections were sworn-in on the name of Constitution if India alone.
The oath didn’t have any mention of the Jammu and Kashmir Constitution as used to be the case earlier. The words Constitution of the State of Jammu and Kashmir had been dropped from the draft of the oath.
The DDC members took oath at their respective district headquarters. The concerned District Magistrates administered the oath.
