JAMMU, Dec 30: Security forces today recovered arms, ammunition and explosive materials from a militant hideout in Dabbi village along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district.
The recoveries were made on the disclosure of militants arrested on Sunday, SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral told the Excelsior.
Recoveries include two pistols, 70 pistol rounds and two grenades, which were recovered at the behest of already arrested militant Yaseen Khan, Angral said.
He said during questioning of Khan, some vital clues on his confession were developed after which a team of police and Army launched an operation in Dabbi and recovered a consignment of arms and ammunition kept in a polythene bag in the bushes.
Police sources said more recoveries are expected during further questioning of three militants, who were planning to target religious places in Poonch but their nefarious designs have been foiled by the Army and police.
