SAMBA, Dec 31: District administration here today carried out an anti-encroachment drive at village Raipur Kholar, Bari Brahmana and retrieved 1.5 kanal of prime land.
During the drive four shops constructed over 1.5 kanal of encroached land were dismantled and a case was registered against encroachers.
A handout of district administration stated that under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria, an anti encroachment team led by Tehsildar Bari Brahmana, Qaiser Malik reached the encroached site and pressed a JCB machine to dismantled the shops constructed there.
After this the retrieved land was transferred to army for defence purposes.
Field revenue staff and cops were also present during the drive.
