International Nursing Day celebrated

JAMMU, May 11: Nursing Day was celebrated at Government Hospital Sarwal, here today.
Medical Superintendent, Dr Arun Sharma, Incharge Matron Vaishnoo along with all senior and junior staff nurses and other nursing staff of the hospital gathered in the conference hall and lit candles in front of the photographs of Florence Nightingale.
Nursing Supervisors Santosh and Shakuntala spoke about nursing profession and on the history of nursing profession and Florence Nightingale.
Dr Arun Sharma Medical Superintendent delivered a detailed lecture on importance of nursing day and pledged with all staff to work for the welfare of the patients and public at large.
The nurses were also awarded on the occasion.
Bee Enn College of Nursing and Bee Enn Nursing Institute also celebrated Nurses’ Day in its premises here today.
The programme started with prayer song and lamp lighting ceremony.
Shakuntala Sharma, principal, Bee Enn College of Nursing, welcomed the guests and higlighted the importance of the Day.
Chairman, Bee Enn College of Nursing and Bee Enn Nursing Institute, Kunil Bhalla, was the chief guest on the occasion who stressed on imparting best nursing education to train best professional nurses. He also conferred the certificates to meritorious students for their academic excellence. The cash prize of Rs 3000, 2000, and 1000 was announced for first, second and third positions in university exams respectively.
The inaugural edition of newsletter “Prism” was also launched by the chief guest.
The program culminated with a vote of thanks by Rupa Pandita, Principal of the College.
