Eight bovine animals rescued, truck seized

SAMBA, May 11: Eight bovine animals were rescued by police near Ghagwal in Samba district during a routine naka today.
According to reports eight bovine animals were being smuggled to Kashmir valley from Kathua area in a truck bearing number JK02 4260. The truck after reaching the naka intensified the speed and fled. However the police team led by SHO Chaman Lal Gorkha chased the truck in a police jeep and intercepted it three kilometers away from Ghagwal. However the driver of the vehicle managed to give police a slip and escaped.
Police rescued all the eight animals and seized the truck. A case was also registered in Ghagwal police Station in this regard under the relevant section.
