REASI, Jan 3: A 12-year old boy was mauled to death by a leopard near his house in Chichi area of Mahore.
The deceased was identified as Arfan Hussain, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Chichi, tehsil Mahore.
The incident took place last evening when the boy was playing near his house and the leopard attacked him causing serious injuries to the victim. He was immediately rushed to CHC Mahore for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries today.
After the postmortem, the dead boy was later handed over to the family members for last rites.
The incident has triggered a panic wave in Chichi area and locals have urged the Wildlife Department to either kill the beast or capture it for safety of the villagers and their live stock.
